The Sentencing Project’s Kara Gotsch will join The Washington and Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice’s “2019 Annual Symposium: Issues in Federal Sentencing: Privilege, Disparity, and a Way Forward” for a panel discussion, titled, “A Way Forward: Efforts for Reform.”

The panel will assess what can be done in and out of the courtroom–through legislation such as the First Step Act and community efforts—to mitigate sentencing disparities and reform sentencing practices.
